Finally, we need to know in which city you will apply for your visa.

German visa types
If you are a citizen from a country outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), and you are aware that you require a visa, the next crucial step would be to determine the most appropriate type of visa for your intended stay in Germany.
Germany offers various visa options, contingent upon your specific purpose for entering the country. The documentation and requirements you must provide will vary based on your individual circumstances and the type of visa you are applying for.
It is essential to carefully assess your situation and objectives to ensure you apply for the correct visa category. This will facilitate a smoother application process and increase your chances of obtaining the necessary authorization to travel to and reside in Germany.
Germany offers various types of visas depending on the purpose of your visit, the duration of your stay, and your nationality. The types of visas include both short-term (Schengen visas) and long-term (National visas) categories. Here’s a brief overview of the main types:
Short Stay Visas (Schengen Visas)
- Tourist/Visitor Visa: For those visiting Germany for sightseeing, visiting friends or relatives.
- Business Visa: For business-related activities exceeding 90 days within 6 months.
- Airport Transit Visa: Required for some nationalities passing through German airports to another destination.
- Training/Internship Visa: For attending training or internship programs.
- German Language Course Visa: Specifically for attending a German language course.
- Visa for Cultural, Film Crew, Sports, and Religious Event Purpose: For participants in these events.
- Visa for Spouse/Relatives of EU/German Nationals: For family members joining EU/German residents.
Long Stay Visas (National Visas)
- Visas to Study in Germany: Including language courses and higher education.
- Job Seeker Visa: For those looking to find a job in Germany.
- Employment Visa: For individuals who have secured a job in Germany.
- Freelance Visa: For self-employed individuals in specific professions.
- Family Reunion Visa: To join a relative or partner living in Germany.
- Medical Treatment Visa: For receiving medical treatment in Germany.
Eligibility and General Requirements
The requirement to apply for a visa depends on your nationality and the length of your stay. EU nationals, along with those from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Sweden, do not need a visa for any length of stay. Nationals from visa-exempt countries can enter without a visa for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period but will need a long stay visa for longer periods or specific purposes like work or study. From 2025, visitors from visa-exempt countries will also require authorization through the ETIAS system.
Application Process and Requirements
To apply for a German visa, you’ll typically need to provide a completed application form, a valid passport, photos, proof of travel health insurance, a travel itinerary, and proof of financial means. The specific documents required can vary based on the visa type and your country of residence.
As for pricing your visa services for clients, it’s important to consider the visa application fees, which can vary depending on the visa type. For example, the fee for a Schengen visa (short-stay) is generally around €80 for adults and €40 for children aged 6-12, while national visas (long-stay) might have different fees based on the specific type. Additionally, consider including service fees for your assistance with the application process, document preparation, and any additional services you offer.
Please note, for the most accurate and up-to-date visa requirements and fees, it’s always best to check the official website of the German embassy or consulate in your client’s home country, as these details can change.
